A Little Business Brand Refresh

Updated: Aug 22, 2020

Oh em geeee! After a few years with our original business branding, we decided to give our small graphic design business a little brand refresh by updating our logo, brand colours, and the graphic elements we're using. 2020 has been a year of the unexpected, so we felt it was the right time to make a few changes to our image in order to better align with the design work we're doing and how our business is presented.

The old Lauren Baker Print & Design logo (below left) was based on a triangular pattern representing confetti and thus celebrating/celebrations. We wanted to keep the celebrating theme going but wanted to create something that had a bit more of a cheerful, colourful, and hand drawn look to it resulting in our new logo (below right) being created.

We ended up keeping two of the old Lauren Baker Print & Design logo colours because we just love them so much (Peach and Teal), we modified two of our old colours to give them a brighter look (Pineapple and Smoke), and we added two brand new colours to the mix to give us more colour variation to work with on our marketing collateral (Salmon and Sky).

We chose Luna as our primary logo font for it's handwritten and casual aesthetic. We really wanted to expand beyond our triangular pattern to include other shapes in our logo and graphics, and as Futura font is based off of geometric shapes we thought it was a perfect fit.

Our alternative logos will be found in places such as social media, website thumbnails, business cards, printed marketing materials, and more. Having a couple variations of our logo allows us to stick to our brand concept with some slight differences depending on where or how the logo is being used.

Our full brand concept board that pulls everything together is below:

We're so happy with how everything turned out for our business brand refresh and can't wait to further expand how our logo and collateral will be used going forward!
